CMS Grau appoints Karina Urquizo as new partner in Dispute Resolution

CMS Grau announced the appointment of Karina Urquizo as a new partner in the Dispute Resolution department.

Karina Urquizo has over 22 years of experience in dispute resolution, specializing in litigation and arbitration, covering civil, constitutional, administrative, and commercial disputes both nationally and internationally.

She has worked as a senior associate in the Conflict Resolution department at Philippi, Prietocarrizosa, Ferrero, DU & Uría, and has served as a trusted advisor at the Supreme Court of the Republic.

Urquizo is a graduate of the Universidad de San Martín de Porres (USMP), with a diploma in Legal Argumentation and Jurisdictional Function from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP), as well as a specialisation in Law and Jurisdictional Policy from the Universidad de Castilla – La Mancha and studies in a Master's degree in Law with a focus on jurisdictional policy from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). Additionally, she has academic publications and has participated as a speaker in highly reputable legal events in the country.

She is a member of the Arbitration Register of the Lima Chamber of Commerce, as well as of ArbitralWomen.

Karina Urquizo has been involved in significant judicial processes, obtaining relevant pronouncements in favor of the litigant from the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court, related to credit for reinvestment, the temporary tax on net assets, among others. Likewise, she has participated in national and international arbitrations in the construction, investment, among other sectors.
