Alexander IJkelenstam has been an administrative lawyer at CMS since 2016. He is particularly active in the Real Estate, Energy and Life Sciences sectors. Within these sectors, Alexander operates in amongst others the field of environmental law (zoning plans and building permits), open government (including the protection of business secrets when dealing with the government) and general administrative law (including permit procedures and law enforcement). From his expertise, he also regularly contributes to M&A and real estate transactions.

Alexander quickly gets to the heart of the matter and provides practical advice. If necessary, he litigates at district courts and at higher administrative courts, including the Administrative Law Division of the Council of State.

His clientele is diverse and includes investors and project developers, but also companies in for example the hospitality sector, pharmacy and retail.

Since his studies at the University of Amsterdam, Alexander has also been active in the field of local government, for a political party (in both representative and managerial positions).
