Jan Mącior is a trainee advocate and a lawyer in the Competition Department at CMS.  

He joined CMS in 2021 and is a member of the team specialising in competition and consumer protection law as well as commercial law.

Jan gained professional experience in proceedings before the Polish Competition Authority, including high-profile merger control and antitrust cases. In this respect, he provides extensive support and representation in various competition law proceedings, from the very moment of its initiation, through all aspects of the case, up to decision issuance. To date, Jan assisted companies from diverse sectors including e-commerce, real estate, media or energy in numerous cases. 

Jan also provides overall advice in the fields of commercial law, with focus on competition and consumer protection aspects thereof. In this regard, he provides continuous and thorough legal assistance to Clients’ in its day-to-day business, by the means of agreements drafting and review, drafting and review of memoranda, contacts with authorities, negotiation support and commercial set-up of the business. 

In addition, Jan’s litigation background before various courts and tribunals, including Polish Competition and Consumer Protection Court, allows him to provide far-reaching comprehensive support, aimed at securing commercial parts of the business. Jan also conducts specialised trainings on various aspects of competition and consumer protection law, such as prohibited agreements, abuse of dominance, or dawn raids.
