CMS bolsters Financial Services Regulatory team with new hire

International law firm CMS has bolstered its market leading Financial Services practice with the addition of new partner Mike Ringer, who joins the Financial Services Regulatory team in London.

Mike was previously the Head of Legal (Europe & CIS) at a leading digital assets exchange, where he spearheaded the navigation of the regulatory challenges surrounding crypto and helped the business to secure regulatory approvals in multiple jurisdictions.

Prior to that he spent 12 years at Slaughter and May, working in the firm’s London and Hong Kong offices, where he had a wide-ranging practice covering the full spectrum of regulatory, financing and corporate/commercial work, with a particular focus on financial regulation and FinTech. His clients included regulators, financial market infrastructure operators, technology service providers, payment and electronic money institutions, traditional and challenger banks, and other financial institutions and intermediaries.

Mike is qualified in both England & Wales and Hong Kong.
